Fire.Fm Integrates Last.Fm with Firefox

Labels: , ,

I have been having issues with Last.Fm crashing on me lately at work. I decided to find something that might keep this from happening, or at the least make it not so frequent.

This is when I stumbled on Fire.Fm a Last.Fm Firefox extension. If your a Last.Fm user and run Firefox this is a must use add-on. Here is a description from the extensions page.

Fire.fm is your direct access to the extensive music library on Last.fm. Listen to music related to your favorite artist, and discover new artists and music in the process. Listen to your friends' favorite music. Find Last.fm users with musical taste similar to your own. Quickly access your favorite stations by just typing a few letters into the location bar. This is the ultimate add-on for the music junkie.

Stay Connected Across Multiple Computers With Dropbox & LogMeIn

Labels: , ,

While at work there are many things that I need that are on either my laptop or Macbook at home. In the past this was frustrating having to use USB drives back and forth to transfer the necessary files I needed. This is true no more.

A few month back I signed up with Dropbox. Dropbox lets you share files across multiple computers seamlessly. This is one of my favorite tools as of late by far.

Another utility I use is LogMeIn. When I find myself forgetting to add something to dropbox or just need to access my PC in general I use LMI. LogMeIn lets you set up remote login access to multiple computers. All you have to do is install the software on the computer you want to access and then you can log into it from anywhere.

With these two tools there is no reason you can't be productive across multiple computers and various locations. The best part is they are both free. (Dropbox is however in beta)

TwitKit Gets A New Look Version 1.1 Released

Labels: , ,

My favorite Twitter app TwitKit just released a new update with a good amount of changes. Here is some details straight from their blog.

This release (codenamed "Goldfinch") focuses on UI improvements and an increase in stability. All of the code has been reorganized and cleaned up, making sure that it's as fast as possible.

You'll also see quite a few new features in this release - including SSL (secure) connection support, the ability to localize TwitKit (we have 3 new languages!), and a little 'undock' button that lets you take TwitKit out of the sidebar and into a separate window.

The UI has been redone in many ways - we're now using the awesome Fugue icon set, and the tabs now have icons instead of words, which allows us to fit more features in there!

Also, due to popular request, the keyboard shortcut to open and close TwitKit has been changed - it's now Control+Alt+A (Command+Option+A for Mac users).

The download page is updated and waiting for you.. so go ahead!

Did You Know You May Already Have A Link Blog?

Labels: , , ,

After my previous post about FF and Greader received some great reactions I decided to give out another little tid bit. Some of the people that are using Google Reader are not aware that they have a great looking link blog at their disposal. Anytime you share an item it gets posted into your shared items feed made by Google.

This feature can be a great addition to your blog or even something you can share with your friends to let them follow what you find interesting across the web. A good example of the Greader's shared feed is mine which can be seen here. You can access the link to your link blog/shared item feed by clicking the shared items tab in GReader.

If you have any question please feel free to ask me, I will be glad to help!

So Your Wireless Provider Won't Block Those Annoying Calls? Here's A Fix

Labels: ,

We all have had it happen. Somehow a telemarketer has gotten your cellphone number, or maybe someone you just don't want to have it, this can be a pain. What's worse is it can also use up your minutes.

I have Verizon and I know for sure they do not offer call blocking. I hear other carriers are the same. If you have this problem, and wanna put a stop to it. Look no further than Youmail.com. Youmail.com is a free substitute to your carriers voicemail service. It's free, and has a ton of fun and cool features. But most of all you can have it send a certain number to a disconnection sound or any other announcement you like. Don't just take my word for it.... Try it out now!
